Your Solar Power System Is a Long-Term Investment. We Help You Protect It.
A solar power system that is properly maintained will perform efficiently and reliably for 25 years or more. One that is neglected will degrade faster, develop faults, and ultimately cost far more to repair or replace than the maintenance would have ever cost.
At Buffalo Energy Solutions, we offer scheduled maintenance services for every system we install. Our maintenance visits are carried out by the same certified engineers and technicians who installed your system — people who know exactly how it was built, how it should be performing, and what to look for when something is not right.
Why Regular Maintenance Matters
Solar systems are often described as low maintenance — and compared to a generator, they are. But low maintenance does not mean no maintenance. Over time, dust, heat, humidity, and general wear affect the performance of every component in your system.
Without regular maintenance:
- Solar panels accumulate dust and dirt that reduce energy output by up to 25%
- Electrical connections loosen over time and create resistance, heat, and potential fire hazards
- Battery health deteriorates faster without periodic monitoring and balancing
- Inverter performance issues go undetected until the system fails completely
- Minor faults that could have been resolved cheaply become major repairs
Regular maintenance keeps your system running at its best, extends the lifespan of every component, and protects the value of your investment.
What Our Maintenance Service Covers
Every scheduled maintenance visit carried out by our team includes a thorough review of your entire solar system. Here is what we check and service on every visit:
☀️ Solar Panel Cleaning & Inspection
Panels are cleaned to remove dust, dirt, bird droppings, and any other debris that reduces light absorption and energy output. We also inspect each panel for physical damage, discolouration, hotspots, and any signs of degradation that may affect performance.
🔌 Electrical Connection Checks
All DC and AC electrical connections throughout the system are inspected and tested. Loose connections are tightened, corroded terminals are treated or replaced, and all wiring is checked for signs of wear, damage, or overheating.
🔋 Battery Health Assessment
We carry out a full assessment of your battery bank including voltage checks, state of charge verification, capacity testing, and a review of the battery management system (BMS) where applicable. We identify any batteries that are underperforming and advise on replacements before they affect the rest of the bank.
🔧 Inverter Performance Review
We review your inverter’s operating data, check for error logs or fault codes, verify that all settings are correctly configured, and confirm that the inverter is operating within its rated parameters. Firmware updates are applied where available and recommended by the manufacturer.
🏗️ Mounting Structure Inspection
We inspect the physical condition of your mounting frames and fixings, checking for corrosion, loosening, or structural movement. Any fixings that have worked loose are retightened and any signs of structural deterioration are documented and addressed.
📊 System Performance Review
We review your system’s energy generation data and compare actual output against expected performance figures. If the system is underperforming, we identify the cause and carry out the necessary corrective work during the visit or schedule a follow-up where more extensive work is required.
Our 4-Part Maintenance Process
Here is exactly what happens from the moment our maintenance team arrives at your property to the moment they leave.
✅ Part 1: Pre-Visit System Data Review
Before arriving at your property, we review your system’s monitoring data remotely — checking energy generation history, battery performance trends, and inverter logs. This allows our technicians to arrive prepared with the right tools and information to address any issues efficiently.
What this means for you: Your maintenance visit is focused and efficient — we already know your system’s recent performance history before we walk through your door.
✅ Part 2: On-Site Inspection & Servicing
Our technicians carry out a thorough inspection and servicing of every component in your system. Panels are cleaned, electrical connections are checked and tightened, the battery bank is tested, the inverter is reviewed, and the mounting structure is inspected. All findings are recorded on our maintenance checklist as the visit progresses.
What this means for you: Every part of your system receives attention on every visit — nothing is skipped or overlooked.
✅ Part 3: Fault Identification & Resolution
Any faults or areas of concern identified during the inspection are addressed on the spot where possible. Where a fault requires parts or more extensive work, we document the issue clearly, explain it to you, and schedule the necessary follow-up promptly.
What this means for you: Issues are caught early and dealt with before they develop into larger, more costly problems.
✅ Part 4: Maintenance Report & Customer Briefing
At the end of every visit, we prepare a written maintenance report covering everything that was inspected, serviced, and found. We walk you through the report, explain the current condition of your system, and answer any questions you have. A copy is provided to you and filed in your customer record.
What this means for you: You always know the exact condition of your system after every visit — everything is documented and explained clearly.
Scheduling Your Maintenance Visits
We understand that every customer has a different schedule and a different level of preference for how frequently they want their system serviced. We offer flexible maintenance scheduling to suit your needs.
Maintenance Plan | Visit Frequency | Best Suited For |
|---|---|---|
Basic Plan | Once a year | Newer systems in low-dust environments |
Standard Plan | Every 6 months | Most residential systems |
Premium Plan | Every 3 months | Commercial systems and high-usage installations |
Custom Plan | As agreed | Large industrial and enterprise installations |
Customers can arrange maintenance visits at any time by contacting our team directly. We will confirm a date and time that is convenient for you and send a reminder ahead of the visit.
Maintenance for Systems We Did Not Install
We also offer maintenance services for solar systems that were installed by other providers. If your existing system is underperforming, has not been serviced in a long time, or was installed by a company that is no longer available to support it, our team can carry out a full system assessment and take over the ongoing maintenance.
What Is Not Covered Under Scheduled Maintenance
Our scheduled maintenance visits cover routine inspection, cleaning, and servicing. The following are handled separately and will be quoted for individually where required:
- Replacement of failed or end-of-life components such as batteries or inverters
- Repairs resulting from physical damage, flooding, or lightning strikes
- Electrical upgrades or system expansions
- Work arising from modifications made to the system by a third party
After Every Maintenance Visit
You will receive:
- ✅ A written maintenance report covering all inspection findings
- ✅ A summary of the current health and performance status of your system
- ✅ Recommendations for any follow-up work required
- ✅ An updated record filed in your customer profile
- ✅ Confirmation of your next scheduled maintenance date
